It's a really good book. I picked this book because while I was shalving it it fell open to a page about reading tea leaves and it looked really interesting so I decided to read it. I finished this book because it was really interesting and there were all sorts of cool facts in ther This book a non fiction book and it's about everything.

I finished this book because it was really interesting and there were all sorts of cool facts in there. I would recommend this book to Patrick, Ben and Cris because they like reading non-fiction books lately so this seemed like a good non-fiction book for them to read. Nov 01, Freda Mans-Labianca rated it it was amazing.

Another big hit with this DK Canada book that has facts and stats on literally everything you can imagine. The best part is, every single page I felt like I learned something new.

If it can do that for me as an adult, just imagine what it can do for your child's brain. A really fantastic book, that I have to recommend to parents and teachers everywhere. Nov 08, Amanda rated it liked it Shelves: Contains answers to all kinds of random questions like How fast can a crocodile swim and Which country produces the most movies. Will be a huge hit with kids who gravitate to Guiness or Ripley's believe it or not books.

Aug 30, Elsa rated it it was amazing. Cool--kind of like a cross between Guinness Book of Records and the encyclopedia, but way more fun.

I totally wasted 3 hours flipping through this! I love the parts in this where Amber is talking to her mom. They are open and honest about sex and they are both better for it. Have an open policy with your kids about this topic really any topic. I love that my daughter's know that they can come to me and talk about sex and anything else. It's not taboo, or shameful, or nasty, its part of life and more people need to accept that.

Your kids will be safer if they can come to you with their questions. Another part of this book is about rape. But I think the author did a wonderful job with the micro flashbacks and Amber talking about it. Another great message in this story is that it doesn't matter if you are a girl or a boy rape is rape and no means no.

My best advice about going out and parting is to always make sure your drink in moderation if you drink at all. Know your limits!! And always do the this rule of thumb! This is awesome because not only does it strengthen the pool of information on here, but it also reminds me to turn things into AMAs when I get asked about it.

I hope you lovelies enjoy it! Curious what the AskMeAnything is? Check out the official AMA page on my site over here.

Q: When it comes to book covers, does the first impression really matter most? This is a topic that spurs a lot of conversation, especially among indie authors who are handling a book from inception to marketing launch. Others are so new to publishing their own books that just having a cover with their name on it can leave them starstruck and thrilled with a cover, and I can admit I was definitely that person in my early times as an author.

We love language, we love the story, we love the characters, and our knowledge of graphics tends to be… lacking.

The same can be said for book covers and how readers respond to them. This fact is even more important to the self-published author who is trying to stand out from the masses.

So how do you stand out? I had vague ideas, and absolutely none of the skill to make it happen.

I was able to build a reader base through word of mouth, through fans from my Literotica days, and by forming solid relationships with readers and other authors on social media. I looked at the covers from top sellers in Dark Romance and I would just sigh and stare at them and wonder who made them, how much they cost, etc. Laura talked with me about the feel of the book, what I imagined, and then spent hours combing through stock photos with me.Students also enjoyed sections with "how to" instructions - like how to do a Moon Walk dance, how to wear a kimono, and how to lift fingerprints.

C'mon, you can impress your future kids. Bleh stories get big bucks, while incredible stories get ignored. Each page I turned, I learned something I've never known before.

So how do you stand out? Others are so new to publishing their own books that just having a cover with their name on it can leave them starstruck and thrilled with a cover, and I can admit I was definitely that person in my early times as an author.

It's a visual treat, filled with facts, statistics, lists, records and more.

If You Ask Me

This fact is even more important to the self-published author who is trying to stand out from the masses. There are a lot of things they want to know and they want answers to their endless array of questions.

She brought the same energy and devotion to her work at the United Nations where, as chair of the Human Rights Commission she played a key role in the creation and passage of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights
